Tip #9 - Use Spaces in Line Label for Indenting
If you would like all the lines in your score indented a bit from the left edge of the window you can give one line in your score a label consisting only of spaces, such as " " (up to 31 spaces). To label a line put the caret in the line, then select View|Label Selected Lines (Ctrl + L), then type the label in the dialog provided.
The very top line in the score is a good one for this purpose because you will always be able to go to it to adjust the label if it needs more or less spaces (since the label's not visible it's not always easy to know which line has the label).
( When printing you can simply adjust the margins via File|Print Options as a way to adjust the left indent. )
One other point on this theme: if you've ever labeled a line "guitar" and you look at the label very closely, you'll see that the left edge of the "g" is clipped. The easiest way to fix this is to put a space in the label just before the word guitar, like this: " guitar".
