Tip #8 - Translate chords to treble or tab to hear as MIDI
As you may have noticed, MusEdit does not play chords/chord diagrams when the score is played as MIDI.
If you would like to hear the how the chord line sounds, or want to use it for your accompaniment, simply translate it into either a treble or a tab line so that the chords will be played as MIDI.
Since chord lines aren't particular about indicating musical timing chances are all the chords will appear as quarter note chords after the translation, so you will probably have to set the note type for each chord to get the progression to sound rhythmically correct. This can be done very quickly however: simply double click on the treble line chord to select it, then type the note value (q, t, s, etc.) and the chord will take on the new value. And often a single chord diagram is used to represent multiple strums, so don't forget that using the Ctrl + 1 insertion shortcut will quickly copy the chord immediately to the left of the caret - hit Ctrl + 1 repeatedly to make several copies of the chord.
Summary:
1) Translate chord line to treble (Ctrl+Alt+E) or tab (Ctrl+Alt+A)
2) Double click on translated chord to select it (or select whole line with Shift+Down arrow) then type note code to set note value of the chord (or all chords in line if whole line is selected).
3) Place caret to right of chord and hit Ctrl+1 repeatedly to make multiple copies for multiple strum situations.
4) Play score as MIDI (Ctrl+Alt+P) to hear chord progression.
