Tip #34 - Copy music to a temporary line, transform, then copy back
You may have noticed one frustrating thing about MusEdit... some of the features it offers (such as transpose) only operate on a whole line, so if you want to transpose a single measure of music (eg. to do an octave shift) you have to tranpose the whole line. I plan to allow this kind of transformation on selections rather than whole lines in the next upgrade, but in the meantime...
The trick I use for these situations is to select the notes or measure(s) I want to transform, hit Ctrl+C to copy them, go to the bottom of the document, hit Ctrl+V to paste a new line with just the selection, then transform that line. Next, select the new version of the notes, copy them, then go back to the original line, delete the original version, then paste the transformed version. Finally, go down to the temporary line, select it (Shift+Down Arrow) then hit "Del" to remove it.
