Tip #29 - Hide unneeded toolbars on finished scores
Both of MusEdit's toolbars and the status bar at the bottom of the window can be hidden via the View menu. When you are editing a score you probably want the toolbars visible since it's handy to be able to access the buttons or check the info in the status bar (although as you get used to using shortcut key combinations you may not need the toolbars as much).
But after a score is polished off you may want to hide the toolbars to maximize the space in the MusEdit main window in which your score is visible. Whenever you save a MusEdit document the visibility status of the toolbars is saved along with the music and other information in the score, so if you save your document after the toolbars are hidden that fact will be stored with the score. Then the next time you open that score the toolbars will disappear, just as they were the last time you saved that score. This way your "polished" scores will always open with maximum window area available.
Note: If you open a score and only hide some toolbars, then close it, you'll get the "Preferences have changed. Do you want to save the changes?" dialog. In this case the dialog is referring to the fact the toolbar visibility has changed, so if you want to keep the toolbars hidden next time you open the score, be sure to click on "Yes" in the dialog.
