Tip #21 - Use "Go To..." To Find Out Information About The Score

Although the main purpose of the "Go To..." dialog (Ctrl+G) is to jump the caret to a target line or bar in the score, "Go To..." is also very useful for simply providing information about the score.

Examples:

1) To find out where you are in the score, simply hit Ctrl+G and info in the top part of the dialog will tell you which line and bar the caret is in. Hit the "Esc" key when you're done and then the dialog will close with nothing happening to the caret position.

2) To find out how many lines of a specific type there are in the score, jump to the last line in the score by hitting Ctrl+End, put the caret in the last line of the type you are interested in (eg. the last treble line), then call up "Go To..." (Ctrl+G) and the information in the top part of the dialog will tell how many lines of that type there are in the score. (This is the technique I use for the Music Library summaries).
