Descrip: Ulrich writes: "Here is one of my personal favorites, a kind of legendary piece with a beautiful melody hookline, well known by many German people, but only few knew who had composed and performed it. In Germany, the tablature of it was very sought after. The funny name of the composition means "The hole in the banana" - nobody ever discovered what the heck this means. "Banana" is very nice to rehearse a lot of hammerings, pull offs and slides, taking full advantage of the possibilities offered by the open D tuning. MIDI only gives a limited idea of the sound because of its lack to reproduce all the slides etc. Just try to let the strings ring as long as possible and perform freely over a steady bass. Donīt let the many time changes scare your. Try to let the music flow in a relaxed and meditative stream."
